Create your workspace

Walk through the sign up wizard, from choosing your country to the moment your workspace is ready.

Anyone can create a CommonLynk workspace without talking to us first. The wizard collects what we need to build your organisation its own private workspace, and it takes a few minutes.

Before you begin

Have three things ready: the name of your organisation, a work email address you can open right now, and the name you want in your workspace address.

You will be asked to enter a six digit code sent to your email address, so choose an inbox you can reach while you fill the form in.

The eight screens

The wizard shows your progress on the right. Seven screens are required and one, connecting your own domain, is optional.

Welcome. Confirm your country and preferred language. Both are filled in for you from your connection, and the rest of the wizard switches to the language you pick straight away.
Your organisation. Pick the card that best describes the kind of work you do. Choose "Show more organisation types" if none of the first cards fit.
Organisation details. Your organisation name, your workspace address, your website and your team size. Only the organisation name is required.
Admin account. Enter your work email, then the six digit code we send you, then your name and a password. You also accept the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy here.
Choose your plan. Starter, Standard or Premium, billed monthly or annually. Annual is selected by default.
Payment. Pay by card, or confirm that you will send a bank transfer. You can apply a voucher code on this screen.
Your domain. Optional. Connect a subdomain of a domain you already own, or choose "Skip for now" and set it up later in Settings.
All set. A summary of your organisation, plan, invoice number and workspace address, with a link to your account portal.

Choosing your workspace address

Your workspace address is the web address your team will sign in at. It is checked as you type, and the page tells you straight away whether the name is free.

Between three and thirty characters.
Lowercase letters, numbers and the hyphen character only.
It cannot begin or end with the hyphen character.
Some names are reserved by the platform and cannot be used.

Once your workspace has been built, this address can no longer be changed from the wizard. It can still be changed later from your workspace settings, and the old address keeps working for a grace period.

When your workspace becomes active

If you pay by card, your workspace is built as soon as the payment is confirmed by the payment provider. If you chose a bank transfer, we email you a proforma invoice with the transfer details, and your workspace is built once we have confirmed the transfer has arrived.

Your account portal works immediately either way. You can sign in there to see your invoice, pay it, and follow the status of your workspace.
