Population groups
The seven categories a person can be classified under, and why the list is fixed.
Population Group records the situation a person is in, which is usually what a donor wants counted. It appears on the registration form, as a column on the register and on the person’s Identity card.

- Refugee
- Internally Displaced
- Host Community
- Returnee
- Stateless
- Migrant
- Other
The list is fixed
Unlike establishment types and lynk roles, which you manage yourself, the population group list is the same for every organisation on CommonLynk and cannot be added to, renamed or reordered from Settings.
What you can change is whether the field appears at all and whether it must be answered, on the Registration Form Fields screen. If your work needs a classification the seven do not cover, record it in the notes field and tell us, so it can be considered for the standard list.
